DAC7

What is DAC7?
DAC7 is a European regulation that applies to online platforms like Secret View. Under this law, Secret View is required to report all payments to community members to the tax authorities. This is why mystery shoppers at Secret View must verify their profiles and submit certain details.
This doesn’t automatically mean you’ll need to pay taxes on your earnings from Secret View. In most cases, it will have little to no impact on your tax return. However, this depends on your personal financial situation.
Verify your profile here or keep reading for more information.
What does this mean for you?
DAC7 was introduced to increase transparency in the digital economy. It helps tax authorities gain insight into the earnings of platform users like those on Secret View, but also on platforms such as Vinted and YoungOnes. This information is used to assess whether your tax declaration is accurate.
Here’s how this law impacts Secret View and its community members:
- We must report all transactions between us and you made after January 1, 2023, to the tax authorities. This applies to all EU-based community members.
- To provide accurate data, we need to verify your profile and identity using our partner, iDenfy. Read more on how iDenfy works here. Verify your profile here.
- You can earn a maximum of €600 per month to avoid being classified as a fictitious employee.

FAQ
What does profile verification involve?
You verify your profile by providing us with the following information:
- Full name as stated on your ID
- Full address
- Date of birth
- Place and country of birth
-Personal identification number (e.g., BSN in the Netherlands)
- Country issuing the ID document
- Payment information (IBAN + BIC or PayPal)
Some of these details will be checked through an identity verification process via iDenfy.
How do you verify my identity?
We use iDenfy for identity checks. iDenfy specializes in processing identity documents and securely verifying identities.
How is my data protected?
Your data is safely encrypted with AES-256, and sensitive information such as your BSN is doubly encrypted. Even our employees cannot access this sensitive data.
Does DAC7 apply only to EU-based income, or also to non-EU members?
DAC7 applies only to EU income. However, we must still verify your identity to determine whether the regulation is relevant to you.
Income earned at Secret View falls under "income from other work." Whether taxes are due depends on other income sources and personal financial circumstances. Due to the typically small earnings, it’s unlikely you’ll owe taxes. If you do, remember to include eligible deductions like transportation and parking costs.
Example: Expense deduction
Imagine you drive from Place A to Place B for an assignment worth €20. Your costs might look like this:
28 km round trip at 8 liters/100 km fuel consumption = ~€4.00
Parking: €3.00
This totals €7.00 in deductible expenses, reducing the taxable income to €13.00.
Does the €600 monthly limit apply to non-EU members?
While primarily for EU regulations, we apply this threshold universally to ensure compliance.
What if I don’t want to verify my profile?
We’d love for you to remain in our community! However, if you choose not to provide your details, we must deregister you. Without this verification, you won’t be able to complete assignments or use the platform. Even incomplete data must still be shared with tax authorities.
If no assignments were completed after that date, no data from 2023 or earlier will be shared.
What happens if I cancel my account now?
If you cancel your account but completed assignments after January 1, 2023, data from 2023 onward will still be reported to tax authorities. If no assignments were completed after that date, no data from 2023 or earlier will be shared.
I’ve already verified myself through iDIN. Do I need to verify again?
Yes, you’ll need to verify yourself again. iDIN only provided us with information about your age and no other details.
