Secret View in 2024: discover our new dashboard and sneak peek of the app
7/10/2024
At our annual Secret View Client Day, we unveiled the completely revamped dashboard and provided a sneak peek of the new mystery shopping app!
The revamped Secret View dashboard in 2024: faster, more secure, and AI-ready
Our dashboard started in 2015 on A3 paper as a simple way to share mystery shopping results. After several significant updates over the years, it has now evolved into a powerful tool for customer experience research, compliance research, and internal audits. Everything is developed in-house, and we continuously improve it for our clients.
Why did the dashboard get a new look?
Because we thought it could be better—that’s the short answer. But it also became necessary because external tools and services would no longer be supported in the long run.
With that in mind, we looked at what else was on the wishlist:
- Shorter load times for dashboards with large data sets;
- Integration of AI into the platform;
- Improved security measures;
- A complete redesign with an optimized mobile view.
We’re keeping successful elements like the structure, donuts, benchmarking, and exports. But of course, we’re adding new features.
What’s different in the new Secret View dashboard?
It’s much cleaner and more organized. In the old dashboard, statistics were on the right; now, they are under the main chart. Recently submitted questionnaires are also gone from the side. We’ve merged and removed some elements to help users better focus on the important data.
More context and explanations have been added to the scores. For each segmentation, for example, there is an info button with an explanation of the score and how it was calculated. Next to each score, you also see the number of questionnaires the score is based on.
The filtering system is much more powerful and user-friendly. Filters are now at the top of the page and move with you as you scroll. It’s also much faster, and you can combine multiple filters.
Time to celebrate! Upon reaching a certain score, like 90%, streamers appear on the screen when you open the questionnaire. If a location scores 100%, it rains 💯💯💯!
The mobile view has been significantly improved. All tables now fit neatly on the screen.
Last, but certainly not least: AI. This new update makes it possible to get optional AI-generated summaries of individual questionnaires for quick, bite-sized insights.
What’s next for Secret View? More AI, detailed demographic insights, and the mystery shopper app
Regarding AI, the questionnaire summaries are just the beginning. Summaries by round, region, or for the whole year are, of course, valuable as well. Or how about a summary per touchpoint in the customer journey? Our developers are hard at work, and we’ll be rolling out these features next year.
Streaks
Streaks is a new feature we’re excited about. It’s an automated rewards program for locations that consistently score well. The longer the streak, the better the reward. For example, three times 100% earns you an award, six times gets you a cake, and ten times earns a team outing.
Benchmarking
It’s already possible to benchmark within the formula by round, profile, category, and question level. We’re going to add more options, such as custom segmentations or groupings in the dashboard.
Benchmarking will also be possible at the industry level, allowing you to compare your scores with the industry within the dashboard. All with anonymized data, of course.
More insights into demographics
We aim to provide more insight into the demographics of our mystery shoppers and offer the ability to segment based on this. This way, our clients gain better insight into their target audiences, enriching the research results.
App for our mystery shopping community
A sneak peek of our new mystery shopper app was given at the Client Day 2024. It is still under development, and we expect to launch it in Q2 2025.
The app allows mystery shoppers to find and complete assignments faster and more easily. If you happen to be near a client, you’ll receive a notification of available assignments.
The app also makes it possible to track more accurately whether the shopper visits the correct location, preventing errors. Moreover, we’ve added gamification elements to make the experience more enjoyable for the mystery shoppers.
Here’s a preview of the app:
